What do you think of when someone says “subcompact car?”

Most people would answer small, cramped, economical and inexpensive, right?  Those are the qualities that come to mind first for most drivers and historically those impressions would be accurate.  “You get what you pay for” is a maxim that most drivers would subscribe to.  If you are paying $15,000 for a new subcompact then you won’t be getting very much other than a reliable, crowded, uninspired ride for ten years.

That kind of thinking may change if very many more cars like the 2015 Kia Rio hit the market.  Various auto publications like Edmunds.com have praised the 2015 Kia Rio for its long list of features, a very roomy interior, great styling and of course, the great Kia warranty which is second to none other on the market.

The Kia Rio is available in either sedan or hatchback and both are available in the LX, EX and SX trims.  Standard features for the base LX include 15-inch steel wheels, heated power mirrors, air-conditioning, height-adjustable driver seat, a 60/40 split folding rear seat and a four-speaker stereo system.  If you move up to the EX or SX trims you will have cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery, center console storage and armrest, rearview camera and much more.

The Rio comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine good for 138 horsepower and it is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission as optional.  In testing the SX sedan went from zero to sixty in 9.4 seconds, a full second faster than the competition.  EPA estimates rate it at 31 mpg combine with either transmission, an excellent result in this classification of automobiles.

Safety features include four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability control, hill start assist, front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.  In government crash testing the Rio received four of five stars overall.

And, of course, the Rio comes with the best warranty in the business, along with its cousin the Hyundai.  That means driving protection for many, many years.  Great gas mileage, great safety features, great comfort and roominess, and a great warranty….how can you go wrong with the 2015 Kia Rio?

For Kia Rio replacement parts, look no further than your local salvage yard. There you will find outstanding deals on all Kia Rio used parts at a price you can afford, and isn’t that what the Rio is all about….affordability?
