What is a crossover SUV?  We see the term all the time but few people can actually define it.

Think of a crossover SUV this way:  take the station wagon of old, slip it some steroids, and you have a crossover SUV.

And the best out there, traditionally speaking, and one of the pioneers in the class, is most definitely the Subaru Outback!  The Subaru Outback is, in many ways, the quintessential American car for the 21st Century, and in 2015 it got better.  The Outback has always had great cargo space. It’s always had superb all-wheel drive.  It’s always had a good price tag well-within reach of the average American.  Now, though, in 2015, it has better gas mileage, more impressive cabin features and some high tech gadgets that will leave you very impressed.

The 2015 Subaru Outback is a five-passenger crossover SUV that comes in four trims, the 2.5i, the 2.5i Premium, the 2.5i Limited and the 3.6R Limited.  The number refer to the engine size and displacement.  Basically, then, two engines are available. The 2.5-liter four cylinder engine has 175 horsepower and is paired with a CVT.  It was timed going from 0-60 in 9.5 seconds, a bit below average for this class, and the estimated mpg is between 25-28 combined.  The 3.6-liter V6 engine gets 256 horsepower with a CVT pairing and sees 22 mpg combined.

Safety in the Outback comes from four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, a plethora of airbags, rearview camera, and in some models blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems.  In crash tests the Outback received the highest five-star ratings.

Chief competition comes from the Honda CR-V, the Volvo XC70 and the Toyota RAV4.  In our opinion the Subaru Outback is the superior among those choices.

As you might suspect from the quintessential American car, the Subaru Outback is supported by thousands of dealerships across the country, and its replacement parts can be found in auto parts stores in practically any city you stop at.  The same can be said for those of you who excel at DIY car repair and like to purchase your used car parts at a salvage yard.  Any salvage yard worth their weight will carry a full line of Subaru used parts, and sell them at great discounts.

All Import Auto Parts is your Subaru used parts headquarters.  Whatever you need in Subaru parts, we have, and we have it for less.
