Have you ever visited salvage yards?  There is an excellent chance your grandfather did, and for sure your great-grandfather did, but have you, Mr. Car Owner, 2024?

Salvage yards have undergone a transformation over the years, and it is that transformation we want to discuss today.

We are All Import Auto Parts, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with distinction for over thirty years.  Call us today, tell us what you need, and then stand back and watch us do what nobody in Fort Worth does better . . . find you quality used car parts and used truck parts at an outstanding price!

Salvage yards of yesteryear.

Salvage yards dating from, say, 1920 to 1995, were dirty, smelly, dangerous, rat-infested places, and quite often they did not have what customers wanted. Think about it.  A salvage yard can only have so many vehicles on its lot.  Lack of space dictates a limit of wrecked cars, and it is impossible for any wrecking yard to carry every make and model of car ever made. The limitations are staggering and, quite frankly, it’s amazing any of those old salvage yards ever had the part wanted by a customer. Some guy comes in and wants a fuel pump for a 1955 Chevy Bel Air? What are the chances?

And a word about the danger needs to be mentioned. The old wrecking yards were pick-and-pull in nature.  A customer brought tools, roamed around the vast yard looking for the car needed, and then physically had to remove the part they needed. It was hard, dirty work, often ending in scraped knuckles and the need for a tetanus shot.

All to save some money on a car repair.

Wrecking yards today.

Today the difference is like night and day. Today a customer goes to a place like All Import Auto Parts, in search of a fuel pump for a 1990 Honda Civic.  The retail store manager checks the computer inventory to see if that particular part is on the yard. If not, they check inventories of salvage yards in the area, expanding the computer search until the necessary part is found, which is then shipped to the original location.

No skinned knuckles, no need for tools, no tetanus shot, and great savings.  And, if you can’t make the drive to the salvage yard, you can simply fill in the online parts search and the computer will do the rest. You can pay online, the part will be shipped, and you can pick it up at the yard.

Are you looking to save money?

There is serious money to be saved, and we encourage you to give DIY car repair and used auto parts a try, especially if money is short at your household.  Learning how to do basic car maintenance is not that difficult. If your grandfather could do it, you can do it, and you will save, on average, about 40% in car repair expenses, which adds up to hundreds of dollars each years.

A final word about All Import Auto Parts.

All Import Auto Parts is family owned and operated, which means we are now serving the second generation of Fort Worth residents since we opened, a fact we think is pretty cool.  Cal us and tell us what you need. Then turn us loose to do what we do better than any of our competitors
