understanding u pull it inventory as opposed to full-service salvage yards

Pick a part junkyard or full-service salvage yards? Which are better? We have strong opinions on this question, and in this article we will tell you about the disadvantages of a pick a part junkyard and why we firmly believe the full-service wrecking yards is your best option.

We are All Import Auto Parts, serving the Fort Worth Metro area with distinction for over thirty years. Call us for all of your used car parts and used truck parts.  We have what you need at a price you can afford.

What is a pick a part junkyard?

A pick a part junkyard is actually a glimpse into the past. It is what salvage yards once were.

With the pick a part business model, a car owner needs, say, a fuel pump for their vehicle.  They then drive to the salvage yard and, upon arrival, they walk through the salvage yard looking for a vehicle which matches the make and model of their vehicle. Once they have found it (if it even exists in the junkyard, they grab their tools, remove the fuel pump, take it to the cashier, and pay a discounted price.

It sounds so nice and easy in that summary, but it is far from nice, or easy, in reality.

The disadvantages of you pull it junkyards.

Here is the first problem with a pick a part junkyard: It is impossible to have all makes and models of cars and trucks ever made.  There is no salvage yard on this planet big enough to have that any wrecked vehicles.  Often you will leave the salvage yard empty-handed, frustrated, and dirty, which we will now talk about.

With this business model, you do that work.  Yes, you get a discount for doing the work but still, you, the customer, get down and dirty extracting whatever parts you need, and you, the customer, scrape your knuckles while you wrestle with a stubborn part which is fighting you every step of the way.

There has to be a better way.

Why do the dirty work when you don’t have to?

And that better way is the All Import Auto Parts way, or any full-service salvage yard in your city.

At All Import Auto Parts, you come to our lot, or simply call our service desk, and tell us what you need.  If we have that part on our lot, we will pull it for you; if we do not have it, we will do a parts search for the closest salvage yard which does have that part, and we will have it shipped to the local location.

Even with us doing all the work, your savings is approximately 40%.

And you have no scraped knuckles during the entire process.

Here is our opinion: you pull it salvage yards are a part of history.  Which is where they belong.
