Still, this is an option worth considering. Go online and see what you can find. There might be a pleasant surprise waiting for you.

There are sometimes nice surprised on ebay and Craigslist. Type in the car you are looking for and see what happens. If you live in a large metropolitan area, you might get lucky. More often than not, however, what you will find, for sale, is the entire car and not just a single car part. Are you willing to make that kind of commitment to your car, that you would purchase another car for parts? Quite frankly, this option is a last-ditch option, one for those who have far too much money and the space to store another car while you part it out.
Salvage yards
This really is the only option worth considering, in our humble opinion.
It’s actually hard to get a reliable count on the number of salvage yards in the United States, but the figure is over 8,000 currently. Put another way, you have 8,000 option/opportunities to find the used car part you need, and every single one of those 8,000 wrecking yards will ship the part you need to your doorstep. No muss, no fuss, no storing a parted-out car in your driveway, just go online, find the part you need, and have it shipped to you – or, if there is a salvage yard in your city, order the part you need through them, and they will find it for you and have it shipped to their facility.
