What you will find at salvage yards

By a variety of means (auctions, purchased, donated) wrecked vehicles, in a variety of stages of disrepair, find their way to salvage yards aka wrecking yards. There they are “parted out,” sold piece by piece to the buying public.

Obviously, because they are used car parts, they are sold at a discounted price. The industry standard is in the 40% discount range, meaning considerable savings for anyone looking to cut expenses and keep their vehicle running through DIY means.

Are the used auto parts reliable? They are as reliable as one can expect them to be.  Purchasing a used fuel pump from a 2019 Toyota should be very reliable. Purchasing one from a 1989 Toyota would be less reliable. What happens when all the used car parts are sold?
